Third ID Soldiers in Kuwait

Fort Stewart soldiers already in Kuwait are going through vigorous training exercises preparing for possible war with Iraq. Makeshift houses were set up for soldiers from the Third Mechanized Infantry Division in the desert. They're using them to practice storming buildings and conducting room-to-room searches. They're also holding live-fire exercises. The soldiers say if they're called on, they'll be ready.

"Pretty much everyone here shares the feelings that if we get over, the quicker we do what we have to do, the quicker we get to finish up and go back home - everybody is enthusiastic about that," said Sgt. Gordon Brown.

Meanwhile, more than 20,000 National Guard and Reserve forces reported for active duty this week. That's the biggest one-week mobilization since the September 11 attacks.
