HILTON HEAD, SC (WTOC) - To get guys like former Steelers quarterback Mark Malone, Sterling Sharpe, and 2-time World Series Champion Ken Griffey Senior, together for one cause, you'd figure it would have to be special.
"It's one of the great tournaments in the country and I feel honored to play in it," said Malone.
Former USC Gamecock Sterling Sharpe added, "when you get a chance to raise money for charity and you get to meet new people you kills two birds with one stone. That's always great."
A course full of celebrities took part in 29th annual Hilton head celebrity golf tournament, which raises money for 16 local children's charities.
It's a good thing the scores won't affect the money raised. Former Reds All-Star Ken Griffey Sr. won't be looking for any accolades on the links.
"(My golf game) Not good. I don't get paid for golf. It's a recreation thing for me."
