Volunteers at Saint James Church are teaming up with the Boy Scouts and Southern Smiles to put a few smiles on soldiers' faces. Yesterday afternoon at the church, they packed up more than 200 bags to ship to our troops overseas. Each bag is filled with toiletries, snacks and games.
Volunteers say they've received tremendous support from people who want to help.
"The community has been wonderful in sending items to the church and actually sending money to help out," said volunteer Peggy Lee Mowers.
Saint James Church is one of several organizations around the Coastal Empire and Low Country that are making sure soldiers are not forgotten.
