SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Students at Jacob G. Smith now have a new way to stay fit. They celebrated the opening of their new fitness trail with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The trail will be a great way for students to increase their upper and lower body strength and get in shape.
"This trail helps students learn that this is a life skill, something they need to learn early on, that fitness is very important and crucial," said Jacob G. Smith school nurse Christina Chancey. "Hopefully they will learn that now and they'll continue it on into adulthood. Because we all know that decreased physical activity only adds to the chronic health problems we see in the country today."
The trail was the dream of members of Jacob G Smith's PTA and Wellness Committee.
