|Call the Mentor Network|
The Mentor Network of Savannah and the Children's Miracle Network both help kids with special needs, so teaming up is a natural to kick off an awareness and fundraising campaign. The Mentor Network provides foster care services for children who have special medical or emotional needs in four cities around Georgia.
"We are currently working with about 20 to 25 therapeutic level children just in the Savannah area here," Bill McIlrath Jr. of the Mentor Network said. "Right now at any given time we'll have 10 to 15 on a waiting list, which means that those are children we could place if we had appropriate home resources."
By working together, the Children's Miracle Network and the Mentor Network hope to raise money for children being cared for at Backus Children's Hospital and generate interest in becoming a volunteer in the therapeutic foster parent program. If you want to help, call 912.354.8990.
