It’s over: Braves end season with a loss after 15-innings

(WTOC) - With the playoff hunt no longer an issue, the Atlanta Braves took the field Sunday against the Nationals for one last game before their season officially came to an end.

Ironically, it was the game that wouldn't seem to come to an end.

The Braves went 15 innings against Washington, before dropping their season finale 2-1 at Turner Field.

Nate McLouth scored the only run for Atlanta, a leadoff homerun off JD Martin in the sixth.

Alberto Gonzalez drove in the winning run for Washington on a two-out single.

The Nationals end the year on a seven-game win streak, while the Braves close out on a season-high six-game losing streak.
