SAVANNAH, Ga (WTOC) - Over 300 swimmers from the Carolinas and Georgia participated in the 12th Annual Carey Hilliard's Restaurant Invitational Sunday at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.
The 3-day meet, which began Friday, featured over 100 events for swimmers of all age groups and experience levels.
Savannah Swim Team head coach Joe Whitt described the event as a mid-season checkpoint before the state championship in December.
"It's great to really see them swim well in the meets and it also helps when we're going back to practice to say hey guys, you see how all the work paid off," he said. "Now we have to keep doing that leading into the rest of the year."
