What's next for alderman David Jones now that's he's been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol? City council elections are just around the corner, and Jones says he plans on running for the same post he's held for three terms. His colleagues on city council seem supportive. Most tell WTOC they would not support a measure to remove Jones from council.
"Public officials are human beings just like everyone else, and sometimes you may not make the right call," council member Edna Jackson said. "David admitted he was drinking, he admitted it. I will always support him in the decision that he made."
Jones was involved in a car accident last month in which the driver of another vehicle, Ola Brown, died.
