By WTOC Staff

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Effingham County schools is teaming up with the Effingham County Health Department to offer after hours immunization clinics for children in Pre-K through 12th grade.

The vaccine is free of charge. The clinics will be held on Wednesday, December 10 from 3pm to 6:30pm at the Effingham County Health Department and on Tuesday December 15 from 3pm to 6:30pm in the South Effingham Middle School cafeteria.

School nursing coordinator Marsha Cornell is concerned because flu season is approaching its peak and with holiday travel and social gatherings there is an increase in exposure to the flu.

The CDC and Effingham County schools is encouraging everyone to continue practicing preventative measures and to get the H1N1 flu vaccine.
