A Claxton man is behind bars, charged with Chatham County's third homicide of the year. Officers arrested 30-year-old Timothy Young last night in McIntosh County. An anonymous tip led police to Young, who was wanted for the murder of 29-year-old David Montgomery.
Montgomery was an employee at the Poolman business on Ogeechee Road. He also lived there. Other employees found blood at the business Monday morning. A short time later, a maintenance worker found Montgomery's body near the Pooler Parkway. He had been beaten and strangled.
Young is in the Chatham County Detention Center.
