Soldier's grandfather found alive in Haiti

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) – A Fort Stewart soldier whose grandfather was presumed dead in Haiti has been found alive.

On Thursday, Pfc. Gerard Placide found out his grandfather, Jean Placide, was living in Port-au-Prince when the 7.0 earthquake rocked the capital city.

Placide's parents are now preparing to travel to Haiti in order to rescue his grandfather.
