SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Dozens of missionaries from Savannah were in Haiti when the earthquake hit and they are continuing to help with the relief efforts.
Savannah Christian Revival Center Pastor Freddie Hebron is one of them. His church is now collecting donations to send to Haiti.
They started collecting a few days ago. So WTOC went to the church were they are working hard to get their first shipment out. Trucks were coming in by the minute at Christian Revival Center.
While the church's pastor, Freddie Hebron, is still in Haiti helping with relief efforts his congregation is getting ready to send a large shipment of supplies which include water, canned food, bleach and flashlights.
Almost every room at the church is full of supplies.
Freddie Tilley is one of the dozens of church members working to get the big shipment together. He has collected from other churches and organizations around the Coastal Empire.
"Haiti is 700 miles away from Savannah. They need the help and we need to help them," said Tilley.
"Once we get this filled, we will be shipping it out and the way we are going it won't be long,"said Tilley.
And once they finish with the first shipment, they'll start working on to the next load of supplies.
"Everyone is coming together and that is what we need," said Tilley. "Haiti is going to service and we are gonna help them and we want to be apart of that."
The help they need in the face of this unimaginable disaster.
