SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A few good men and women gave up their Saturday to help bring relief supplies to those in Haiti.
The International Longshoremen's Association local chapter 1414 got together to load up a shipping container full of bottled water, rubbing alcohol, and paper supplies to donate to the victims of the earthquakes.
Volunteers spent several hours this morning filling the 40-foot trailer to help those in need.
Pastor Hebron, who was on site helping with the project, says that it's the heart of the community that truly comes out in the face of tragedy.
"People have a heart for people regardless of where they are - wherever they may be," said pastor Freddie Hebron. "We never know when tragedy's gonna hit, but when it does, the community can come and rally behind that area in which the tragedy occurred."
Pastor Hebron will be taking the supplies down to Haiti next week.
