After a fast start, the war with Iraq has slowed down a bit. But that's not worrying some Low Country veterans. Members of the Sun City Veterans say as US troops close in on Bagdhad, they expect the fighting to get tougher. But even with Iraq taking American prisoners and casualties starting to mount, these vets' enthusiasm holds strong.
"I wish like heck that I were there," Sgt. Dick Fordyce (Ret.) told us. "If they'd say go today, I'd go. I'm with those guys 100 percent and I think we're doing the right thing."
These veterans say they're not surprised by reports that Iraqi troops have paraded American POWs, but it still upsets them.
