SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - More than 1,150 snowy pics were sent in to WTOC of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry's first snowfall in years.
The last snowfall on record in Savannah was two-tenths of an inch in February 1996. In 1989, Savannah saw 3.6 inches of snow in December.
On February 12, 2010, many areas saw two or more inches of snow. Below are just some of the snowfall totals from around the region:
SMOAKS - 7.0 inches
BEAUFORT - 3.0 inches
RIDGELAND - 3.0 inches
SYLVANIA - 3.0 inches
STATESBORO - 2.5 inches
POOLER - 2.0 inches
GUYTON - 2.0 inches
HINESVILLE - 2.0 inches
SAVANNAH AIRPORT - 0.9 inches
