People in the Coastal Empire and Low Country think a lot of the Third Infantry Division. And so does the Army's top brass. Yesterday, Secretary of the Army Thomas White paid a visit to Fort Stewart to talk to families and offer support while their loved ones are fighting overseas and changing the world.
"Nothing has stopped the Marne Division and the finest traditions of this great division," White said. "They've written history and they keep on writing it. They've been absolutely magnificent and we should all be very proud of them."
The secretary spent the night at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.
