Bond set for woman suspected of shooting husband in hand

HAMPTON COUNTY, SC (WTOC) - On Sunday at around 3pm, Hampton County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Ginn Hill Drive on reports of a shooting. When the arrived on the scene, the found a man who had been shot once in his left hand.

Police say and the man's wife, Joy DeLoach, used a shotgun to shoot her husband. They pointed out that they found no evidence of a struggle, but that Joy DeLoach just pointed the weapon at her husband, Kirk DeLoach, and shot him.

The victim, Kirk DeLoach, was taken to Hampton Regional Hospital for injuries. He was later taken to the Medical University of South Carolina for surgery.

Joy DeLoach was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. Her bond was set at $10,000.
