Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue's showing his support for the men and women of the Third ID. He wears a reminder everywhere he goes, a pin of the unit's emblem on his jacket.
"They have my utmost respect," the governor said. "I tell you, those family members and loved ones who are praying for these guys. I want them to know I'm praying for them. They are heroes, taking it to Saddam Hussein. I want them back here soon and I look forward to hugging every one of them."
Governor Perdue was a featured speaker at the opening of the new Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick this morning.
