The Coastal Georgia Affliate Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure has raised millions of dollars for organizations in the Coastal Empire. The money raised goes towards helping underinsured and uninsured women get access to breast exams and treatment. To find out more on the 2010 grantees, view Susan G. Komen 2010 grantees.

The Coastal Georgia Affliate serves Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long and McIntosh counties.

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation was created when Nancy Brinker promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, the foundation was created and it has become the largest network of breast cancer activists in the country. They are the largest non-profit contributor in the fight against breast cancer.
