SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - One of southeast Georgia's most veteran lawmakers is retiring after 30 years in the Georgia State House of Representatives.
Representative Bob Lane of Statesboro says this session will be his last.
The longtime conservative Democrat switched parties in 2004, helping to ensure the historic shift in power.
He succeeded his father, Jones Lane, after his death. Together they spent half a century in the General Assembly.
Lane's district includes Bulloch County and nothern Bryan County.
