SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - After ten years, the R.B. Baker Celebrity sports camp is still going strong.
Over 150 campers packed the lawn at the Bethesda School for Boys in Savannah for one-on-one instruction with the professionals.
Among the pros in attendance were Atlanta Falcons John Parker Wilson, Brian Finneran, Kroy Bierman and Chris Redman, retired players Tracy Ham, Fred Stokes and Dusty Ziegler, and former Georgia Southern hoops star Michael Curry.
"They were so appreciative of having the NFL players come out and talk to them and just running around with them and showing guys how to catch the ball and run some routes, the whole day was very enjoyable," said Falcons' receiver Brian Finneran.
GSU's Curry added, "the camp and the sports is great but having the chance to speak to them about life lessons, I think that's the most important thing."
Perhaps one of the people most affected was camp organizer Robert Baker.
"Oh it's a blessing," Baker said. "To be able to teach them and try to mentor them, it's just a wonderful, wonderful thing."
