Appling County's Pam Williams earns a tremendous accolade. Last weekend, in Atlanta, Ms. Williams was named Georgia's Teacher of the Year. Making it all the more satisfying, for this outstanding economics and government teacher, is the fact that she earned this highest state-wide educational honor while teaching at Appling County High, her very own high school alma mater! This prestigious award gives Ms. Williams the time to travel throughout Georgia during the next academic year, as a classroom ambassador, visiting schools from one end of the state to the other, cataloging best instructional approaches and practices, which she'll then share with fellow teachers during her exploratory travels, benefitting both colleagues, and their students, state-wide.
Our congratulations to Georgia Teacher of the Year, Appling County's Pam Williams, and our sincere thanks for the skill, dedication and love of learning that combined to earn her the distinction as Georgia's top teacher.
