POOLER, Ga (WTOC) - After 30 years, the Savannah Open is still going strong. The tournament, one of the largest of its kind on the East Coast, is open to Darts players of various age groups and skill levels with a purse totaling $10,000.
Organizers say this year's event drew nearly 250 participants, most of whom are from the Savannah area, with several travelling from various states throughout the U.S.
Tournament organizer Dan Jordan said of this year's field, there are "a lot of people who are tremendous shots who are on the pro level", but "then you have a lot of novices."
"As long as they're having fun and they're competing, they have as much of a chance as anybody else," Jordan said.
The weekend tournament concludes Sunday afternoon.
