SAVANNAH, Ga (WTOC) - Savannah area golfers pulled out their clubs and golfing gear in honor of one of the city's sports greats Saturday afternoon.
The Bob White Tournament, named for the late Bob "Boo" White Sr, is an annual event held in honor of the former Benedictine athlete and coach.
White was later inducted into the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame.
This year's tournament drew a full, yet strong field. 103 golfers were slated to take part in the weekend event.
Because the tournament at the Lavida Country Club is part of the Skeadas Cup, organizers say, it made it easier to fill the field.
"It's a tournament a lot of players will play in," said assistant tournament director Jeff Mell.
"We bring in a lot of guys from around the state so the turnout was excellent and we're very pleased."
