WTOC was pleased to take home many top honors from the Georgia Associated Press 2002 Awards in April. Among them were some of the most coveted prizes in the news business, the Best Newscast award and the Associated Press Pacemaker award for best overall news operation.

Additionally, our Steven Shoob and Elizabeth Garcia took home an Emmy award for television news excellence and outstanding achievement in June. The award was for their coverage of the 38th Street fire. They, along with WTOC news director Larry Silbermann picked up the award at a ceremony Saturday night in Atlanta.

While we'll continue to work hard to bring you the very best coverage, we'd also like to thank our many viewers for making us THE Southeast News Leader.
