It was an amazing homecoming today at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, where after three months, many military were finally reunited. Friends and family welcomed home aviators with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 533. They're finally home after flying missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
"You're so removed from it over there, but you come back and see all this, you kind of realize why you did it," Capt. Rob Peal said.
And this Marine has three and a half good reasons: his wife Nikki, their sons Garret and Griffen, and one on the way.
"Seeing my wife and two kids when I got off the plane, it's just a great feeling," he said. "It's something I'll never forget my whole life."
"It looks like the collective prayers of the nation are answered," said military wife Jennifer Fry. "Cause they're home safe."
More Marines with the squadron are expected home this Saturday.
