HARBOUR ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - It was a great weekend for businesses in the Lowcountry. Barefoot Bubba's on Harbour Island scooped more ice cream and served more customers than last year.

They say last year was tough with the economy and they were happy to see business bounce back with this Fourth of July holiday.

"It was actually really busy this weekend," said manger Katelyn Brown. "I'm sure the oil spill has had a little bit to do with it. We've seen a little bit of a pickup. The season was kind of slow to start off but this weekend has set it in full motion for the rest of the summer."

Of course they are hoping the rest of this summer is just as good.
