SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - As we celebrate our independence, we also begin a look back at how many of our rights and freedoms came about.
The amendments to the Constitution set forth much of what we take for granted today, establishing our unique liberties that were not originally included in the Constitution itself. Added over the course of two centuries, our amendments address matters ranging from freedom of speech and religion to Presidential term limits and a lot in between that makes this America and us Americans.
During WTOC's Celebration of America in July, we will look at all 27 amendments and hear from historians, political scientists and elected officials about each one.
