BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is looking for 24-year-old Marion Benjamin Powell of Yemassee. Powell is wanted for armed robbery, assault and battery of a high, aggravated nature and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Deputies say on July 3, around 6:30 p.m. Powell drove up to a residence on Firethorn Lane in a blue Buick Roadmaster. Powell's cousin was standing outside. Powell got out of the car and began to argue with his cousin. Powell struck him in the head with a handgun, fired a shot in the air and demanded his cousin's money.

His cousin handed over some money and Powell got back into his car and fled the scene. Powell's cousin was taken to Beaufort Memorial for head injuries where he was treated and released.

Sheriff's deputies have searched all known locations, but have been unsuccessful in locating him. Powell has a large tattoo reading "Big East" on his left hand. Deputies say Powell should be considered armed and dangerous.
