SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Two marines, charged with beating up a gay Savannah man, were in court for the first time Thursday morning.
Christopher Stanzel and Keil Cronauer, who are charged with battery, showed up at the Chatham County Courthouse for a hearing.
Police said they hit Kieran Daly on June 12 in downtown Savannah after they left a bar.
The assistant district attorney told Recorder's Court Judge Claire Cornwell-Williams that she needed more time to investigate before she can proceed with the hearing.
Stanzel and Crounauer, both stationed at the Marine Corp Air Station in Beaufort, S.C., have not yet hired attorneys to represent them. The case was continued until Aug. 5.
