Case against marines who beat up gay man continued

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The two Marines that allegedly beat up a gay man in downtown Savannah appeared in court on Thursday morning. Christopher Stanzel and Kerl Cronauer are charged with battery.

Police say they hit Kieran Daly on June 12 after they left a bar. The assistant district attorney told the judge she needed more time to investigate before she can proceed with the hearing.

Stanzel and Cronauer, both stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, have not yet hired attorneys to represent them.

The case was continued until August 5.
