Georgia state tax collections to rise

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - State tax collections in Georgia are finally going up.

Georgia posted its largest gain in revenue in more than a year. Figures show a total increase in nearly 4 percent over last June.

Personal income tax collections jumped 9 percent and sales tax revenue is up 5 percent. There was a slight revenue increase in March. That's the only time in about two years that tax collections have gone up.
