Security company hosts kid safety day

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Saber Security and Investigations hosted their inaugural child safety event in the heart of City Market at Ellis Square. The event was geared towards teaching children how to avoid and deal with strangers, internet safety and other potiently dangerous situations.

"The Savannah community has been so great to our company and welcoming us to Savannah, we've been doing business here for two years and we wanted to give back to the community," said Erica Lumbert with Saber Securities and Investigations. "The summer, right in the midst of everything, we wanted to stress how important it is to take care of our children."

"We're just out here learning some stuff about being safe in the summer time. You need to make secret codes words for your family and what not," said Joshua Williams with the Boys and Girls Club. "Also know who in your community can keep you safe, like the police officers, the fire department, your principal counselors, so that's what we're out here learning."
