SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Savannah man is wrapping up his bike ride across the U.S. on Monday.

More than a month ago, Bob Aneshansel left Savannah on his bike for Los Angeles. The ride is to help raise money for children who have been hospitalized with crippling conditions. He biked about 100 miles a day for 36 days and visited numerous hospitals along his way.

Aneshansel was born with class four bi-lateral club feet and was a patient of the Shriners hospital for crippled children in Lexington, Ky., from when he was younger than 1 year old until his freshman year of college in 2003.

He has had several corrective procedures done, thanks to the generosity of strangers, which has allowed him to achieve a level of normalcy he wouldn't otherwise have.
