Lockdown lifted on Tuttle clinic after bomb threat

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Tuttle Army Health Clinic was closed on Tuesday morning from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. because of a bomb threat.

A noncommissioned officer-in-charge received a call from a female who stated that there was a bomb in the clinic. Tuttle staff then called 911 to notify military police and began conducting all safety and security protocols, according to a news release.

The building was evacuated. Hunter Army Airfield military police blocked off Montgomery Gate and have redirected traffic away from Tuttle.

Emergency Ordinance Disposal unit is at the scene to search of the clinic, which will take about five hours, the release said. All personnel are accounted for and have been moved to HAAF's Post Exchange parking lot, according to officials.

Those with appointments on Tuesday can call Winn Army Community Hospital's Call Center at 912.435.6633.
