Wounded Ga. Capitol officer released from hospital

ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say a state Capitol Police officer wounded in a shootout in downtown Atlanta has been released from a hospital.

Georgia Department of Public Safety spokesman Gordy Wright says the officer, 28-year-old Mark Edge, was wounded when he came to the aid of a Georgia State Patrol officer who was responding to a report of a motorcycle theft Wednesday afternoon.

Wright says gunfire was exchanged and Edge was grazed by a bullet. He says 1 of the suspects also was hit and is in Grady Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.

Wright says two other men were arrested without incident in a building not far from the shootout.
