Three men rescued by Coast Guard

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Coast Guard helicopter rescue crew from Air Station Savannah assisted three boaters aboard a 27-foot pleasure craft, "Lucky Duck", after it ran aground near St. Simons Island Saturday evening.

The Coast Guard was notified from a passenger aboard the "Lucky Duck" at 3:49 p.m. that the boat had ran aground. A 25-foot rescue boat from a Coast Guard station in Brunswick and the helicopter air crew arrived on-scene  at 4:42 p.m. to assist.

A swimmer from the helicopter crew was lowered, and transported all three boaters from the boat to a sea-tow vessel also on-scene. The sea tow vessel transferred the passengers to the Coast Guard boat crew, who transported them ashore.

There were no reports of injuries.
