WILMINGTON, ISLAND, GA (WTOC) – The Oglethorpe Invitational title was Jack Hall's to lose.
The 2005 champion set the tone Friday with a round one 66.
Saturday, he did just enough to maintain the lead, shooting a second round 70, still one shot better than the field.
Sunday, it was the 53-year-old Hall poised to take it all, over a noticeably younger field.
"They've picked it up on the amateur circuit so the college kids are really coming in," he said. "In fact, one of the players told me I was older than his dad."
Perhaps the maturity factor bode well for the Sea Island native in the final. Ole Miss golfer Zach Primavera and Adam West, both paired with Hall Sunday, lost strokes on the front nine, allowing the elder Hall to pull away.
"It gave me a comfort level so I started hitting fairways and greens and taking advantage of it."
Hall, both the overall and the senior division champion, finished the tournament -8.
