Cousins Disappear on Same Day

Two men, John Bacon, Jr., and a distant cousin, Dwayne Bacon, disappeared from separate homes in Evans and Tattnall Counties on the same day. No one is quite sure what happened, but they're certain its not good. Just over two weeks ago, the men left home in their cars and disappeared. Middy Bacon and others hit the streets hoping pieces of paper taped in windows and on bulletin boards would help find her son.

"I'm just wanting him to come home," she said. "I'm asking everyone to please look around. Treat it as though is was your own child."

"He was home Tuesday morning when I left for work," Dwayne's mother Kitty Bacon said. "I haven't seen him since. That was May 6."

John's family says that morning, he got several cell phone calls from Dwayne and left to meet him. Neither family knows if the two met, but no one has seen either since. Dwayne was driving a red Honda Civic hatchback and John was driving a white Buick LeSabre. Because John commuted to work near Meldrim, they've broadened the search across the Coastal Empire.

"We've been going back and forth to Pembroke, Savannah, riding back roads of Evans and Tattnall Counties," Katie said. "We've been going everywhere to find the cars or maybe find them."

For now, all they can do is put their loved ones' faces in as many windows as they can and hope.

If you see either of those cars or the two men, you're asked to call your local authorities or Savannah CrimeStoppers at 234-2020. Authorities have no idea where the men are, but they're hoping someone will spot the cars and the cars could lead them to the owners.
