Savannah State University assistant coach arrested

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah State University defensive line coach Corey McCloud was arrested early Sunday afternoon on charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license, no proof of insurance and also operating a vehicle without a tag or a decal.

McCloud's bond came in near $3,000. He was released around 6 p.m. Sunday.

We had a chance to speak with Tigers interim head coach Julius Dixon who declined to comment in detail, but did tell us that he hasn't spoken with McCloud as of Sunday night, but will discuss any disciplinary action when the two meet.

McCloud rejoined the program Wednesday as the defensive line coach after holding the same position in 2007.

McCloud also coached in the high school circuit, and was a four year letterman at linebacker at Nicholls State.
