SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - An investigation continues into a Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police officer hitting a Savannah home with his cruiser.
On Friday, an officer was responding to a call for backup when he lost control of his vehicle. Police said that he hit a utility pole then ran into this house on 52nd Street. Police Chief Willie Lovett said it is still premature to decide what if any discipline against the officer is necessary.
"No there's been no action taken. These accidents, like anything else, we have to investigate and get all the facts first and once we determine what actually happened, then we'll take the appropriate course of action," Lovett said.
The officer's name has not been released during the investigation.
