Members of the Georgia National Guard are holding the second annual Armed Forces Memorial Day Festival. The reason for the festival is to remember those men and women who paid the ultimate price for our country. Since Memorial Day last year, 180 servicemen and women have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"We thought having displays and military bands and flyovers would be a fitting tribute to Memorial Day," said Col. Ed Wexler of the 165th Airlift Wing.
The festival starts today and runs through Saturday on River Street in Savannah. There'll be music, an air show and food.
