SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Republican Nathan Deal is in Savannah talking to supporters about his future plans.
Gubernatorial candidate Deal says,"We've all worked to get the federal funding to deepen the port of Savannah. I recognize as a governor the importance of the port, not only to this area, but to our entire state, and it's important that we not only get the port deepened so we get those big cargo vessels stopping here in the port of Savannah, but also that we be able to accomodate the unloading and transfer of the cargo both on and off of those vessels."
Deal faces Karen Handel in Georgia's primary runoff to decide who'll run in the general election in November. We'll keep you posted on the race and the results.
