SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - It happened around 8:30 Saturday night at a home off of Stillwood Drive in the Windsor Forest neighborhood on Savannah's southside.
Savannah fire fighters say the blaze started in one of the bedrooms.
Flames and smoke could be seen from the outside of the house.
A mother and her child were at home at the time of the fire, but they managed to get out safely.
"The damage was stopped and held to the one room," explained Savannah Fire Department Captain Tonia Snelling. "There's a little bit of water damage thoughout, but the first engine companies did a great job."
Savannah firefighters are still investigating how that blaze may have started.
