Camp Lighthouse helps children

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Martin De Porres Society of Savannah is hosting their 10th annual Camp Lighthouse at Johnson High School.

The goal is to provide a structured day camp experience for children that would not normally be able to attend camp. The children are having a great time taking parts in all kinds of activities, working on their basketball skills, learning how to make Power Point presentations in the computer lab and creating artwork.

"We really feel that camp lighthouse is a special place for children to bond with adults who are concerned with their growth and development and want them to be successful," said camp director Gail Brown.

Camp Lighthouse is free thanks to a partnewship between Havaya International, which is a joint program between the 92nd Street Y of New York City and the Ramat Hasharon Community Centers of Israel.
