BEAUFORT CO, SC (WTOC) - A Bluffton woman is missing after she failed to return from a trip to Charleston.

Alexis Lukaitis, 27, was reported missing Monday by her fiancé, 32-year-old Michael Bartley, after she never returned home from what was expected to be a brief visit to Charleston, according to the Beaufort Co. Sheriff's Office.

Bartley told deputies that Lukaitis went to take a friend to Charleston at 3 p.m. Sunday. At about 7:45 p.m., Bartley said he had talked to Lukaitis by phone and she said she'd be home in about an hour, according to authorities. As of 9 a.m. Monday, Lukaitis had yet to return and after repeated attempts to reach her by phone went unanswered.

Lukaitis is 5 feet 2 inches tall, 105 pounds and had blonde hair and blue eyes. She has a butterfly tattoo on her lower back and a moon tattoo on her right hip. She was last seen driving a white 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with South Carolina license plate FNY-718.
