Church holds watermelon eating contest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Kids chowed down on some delicious watermelon at the Morningstar Community Church.

Fun, games and a really good time all for the kickoff of their Awana's Club, which teaches fellowship throughout the school year.

Contestants let their mouths do all the work snacking on dozens of melons. It was fun for everybody.

"I enjoyed the watermelon contest," said Abigail Griffin of Faulkville. "I enjoyed having a good time and playing the games," explained Abby Degarlais.

They needed something to wash all that watermelon down, so they even had a cake! The Awana's Club meets every Wednesday night throughout the school year. To find out how you can be a part just visit their website at:
