Georgia couple survives Columbia plane crash

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A Georgia couple has a lot to be thankful for.

They are two of the more than 100 survivors who survived a plane crash in San Andreas, Colombia. David and Carolina Bellino of Flowery Branch, Ga., were on board the 737 airplane when it fell short of its landing, slid across the runway and broke into pieces. Carolina Bellino is seven weeks pregnant and the baby was not harmed.

"It's a miracle. There's no other way to look at it," David Bellino said. "I crossed over my wife and opened the emergency hatch and stepped onto the wing and saw there was fire in front of me there."

David Bellino broke a vertebrae in his back, but he should be OK in a few weeks.
