Visitors bureau changes its name

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has changed its name to Visit Savannah.

The idea behind the name change was to create a forward-thinking, marketing driven, call-to-action name that is consistent with the organization's website URL www.VisitSavannah.com, according to news release. Visitors bureaus in cities such as Charlotte, Baltimore and Pittsburgh have also made similar moves.

The Visit Savannah name supports the organization's integrated, multimedia marketing strategies that include its website, ad campaigns, social media and mobile marketing efforts.

The change came about after a task force of local marketing professionals performed research and made a recommendation to the Visit Savannah board of directors.

A new logo has launched for the new name and will be phased in over a period of three to six months. For more information, go to www.VisitSavannah.com.
