MILLEN, GA (WTOC) - One student is living his wildest dreams. Chris Chapman is responsible for the biggest find of his life and most of his peers lives.
The search is over for the remains of a confederate prison camp in Jenkins County. Chapman says he never imagined modern archeology would thrust him into the spotlight.
"It still doesn't feel real yet," Chapman told WTOC. "As archeologists we're not used to this kind of attention. We're used to working sort of off on our own. So to have this kind of attention is intimidating."
Chapman says excavations will continue on the site for the next 20,30 and maybe even 40 years.
